This 12 port plumbing arrangement is simply a dual 6 port diagram; while sample 1 is loaded and subsequently injected onto column 1, sample 2 is loaded and injected onto column 2. As with 10 port valves, the 12 port is capable of a wide variety of sample injection and switching applications.
Position A: Load loops
Sample loop 1 is filled with sample 1 while sample loop 2 fills with sample 2.
Position B: Inject loop contents
Sample loop 1 contents are sent to column 1 and detector 1; sample loop 2 contents are sent to column 2 and detector 2. When the valve is returned to Position A, the loops are refilled.
